Sustainable Protection
As a reinsurance company, we make a valuable contribution to sustainable development; after all, protecting people and their property plays a pivotal role here and at the same time constitutes our core business. We enable a broad spectrum of the population to access tools for individual risk minimisation or mitigation. We support rapid reconstruction after natural disasters and we ensure that livelihoods can be restored. Not only that, we develop solutions for individuals whose insurance protection was previously inadequate or who struggle to obtain coverage. Climate Change
Climate change, defined as naturally occurring or human-caused climatic changes, and the associated effects are considered a key megatrend of our time and already pose a significant risk today. We respond to climate change in our risk management in a broad variety of ways; through close collaboration in working groups and with scientists from the fields of climatology, meteorology, geography and hydrology, by developing deterministic climate change scenarios to evaluate the impacts on our business operations and in our use of natural catastrophe modelling for pricing purposes.
